I completely agree that not witnessing some events made it hugely terrifying in the book.Michelle Fluttering Butterflieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08793681725475475156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-879471721147949241.post-63505543497785125062011-06-06T16:32:15.869+01:002011-06-06T16:32:15.869+01:00Hoping I can finally post this. I am just starting your book, Savita, so hope to have a few sleepless night!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-879471721147949241.post-19926055284671019172011-06-03T23:40:56.738+01:002011-06-03T23:40:56.738+01:00Fascinating to hear how you came to write The Long...Fascinating to hear how you came to write The Long Weekend, Savita. It's interesting what you say about leaving some things to the reader's imagination – allowing space for the reader to insert their own fears and imagine the worst! This also follows on from what Sara talked about last week, when she asked if anything should be off-limits for writers of 'edgy fiction'. By avoiding sensational, graphic description (and not taking your readers over the edge) you are actually creating a piece of work that has greater impact and resonance. Take 'em to the edge, but don't go pushing anyone over!Dave Cousinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07910281490764974261noreply@blogger.com
